I am so tired of snow at the moment (got to really love the norwegian winters!), but some good music always helps. Here’s a playlist with one of my all time favourite bands, DeLillos. Take your time to listen to the lyrics, they are really good.
A new layout is coming up soon – just got to finish reading a paper on psychoanalysis and feminism first.. :)

During my first year at computer science, I attended a lecture about sound waves and signal processing. Wikipedia describes the function like this:
“The sine wave or sinusoid is a mathematical function that describes a smooth repetitive oscillation. It occurs often in pure mathematics, as well as physics, signal processing, electrical engineering and many other fields. Its most basic form as a function of time (t) is:
where:
- A, the amplitude, is the peak deviation of the function from its center position.
- ω, the angular frequency, specifies how many oscillations occur in a unit time interval, in radians per second
- φ, the phase, specifies where in its cycle the oscillation begins at t = 0.
The sine wave is important in physics because it retains its waveshape when added to another sine wave of the same frequency and arbitrary phase. It is the only periodic waveform that has this property. This property leads to its importance in Fourier analysis and makes it acoustically unique.” (wikipedia.com)
My mind accidentally wandered a bit during this lecture, and I sort of thought that “sinusoid” sounded more like an alien than something mathematical. Then these creatures came to life:
I came across a link today, and listened to the song posted by The Baseballs. I had to check them out on Spotify, and I loved the music :) Instead of remixing old songs, they sing modern songs in the style of the 50’s.
The salesman promised me that I would love it from the moment I attached it to my camera:
..and he was so right.
Tonight I’m drinking mango tea from a hattifnatt cup. I had to check Wikipedia to find out what ‘hattifnatt’ is in english – hattifatteners – and I found out this: “… Hattifatteners are small white ghost-like creatures that resemble worn socks. Hattifatteners are always on the move and travel in large groups (but always in odd numbers), such as boat convoys.”. Hehe.
… yet again! It’s been an incredibly busy semester at the university, and I’m glad it soon has come to an end. Got my last exam next week (Social and Cultural Perspectives on Digital Media), can’t wait for the holidays! I took the evening off yesterday to have some fun with Photoshop, and image credits goes out to ori0n. The pic was shot at Gods of Metal in Italy this summer, which I really wanted to attend.. Meh :)
